Privacy policy

The short version: translation happens on your phone, there is no account, and we do not collect your photos, your text or your voice.

What happens on your device

Text recognition, object detection, translation, pronunciation, history and saved words all run and are stored on your phone. Camera frames, imported photos, typed text and translation results are never sent to Frame Sixty Labs or to any server we operate.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. The app has no account or sign-in, and it does not include a third-party analytics or advertising SDK. We do not receive your translations, photos, contacts, location or device identifiers.

Third parties that may process data

Language packs. When you download a language, the on-device translation model is fetched from Google's ML Kit model servers. The request contains what is needed to download a file, not your content.
Voice input. Speaking into the app uses your phone's built-in speech recognition (Apple on iOS, Google on Android). Depending on your device and language, audio may be processed on the device or by that provider under its own privacy policy. Camera, photo and typed translation never use this.
Purchases. Premium is sold and processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We receive purchase receipts to unlock Premium and do not see your payment details.
This website. phototranslate.app is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request logs (IP address, user agent) to serve and protect the site. We do not run tracking pixels or ad networks here.

Permissions

Camera is used only to recognize text and objects live; frames are processed in memory and not saved unless you choose to. Photos access is used only to open an image you pick. Microphone is used only while you are dictating on the Translate tab.

Data you can delete

History and saved words live only on your device and can be cleared in the app. Deleting the app removes everything.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
